Here at RCHFH we are proud of our homeowners and their accomplishments!

Please read about our most recent homeowners,
where they have been in their lives, and where they are headed.

Tonya

Three years ago, the idea of ever being a homeowner was something Tonya only dreamt about.

It has taken several years for Tonya to realize that you don’t have to be a certain age to do anything. All along she has dreamt of having a home, a place for her family, and that dream is finally coming true. She would like to thank everyone who has volunteered on her home and who has built this new life for her and her family.

Johndolyn

Because of the woman she has become and the women that have shaped her life, Johndolyn will be the recipient of the 2010 Women’s Build; a home sponsored and built by women in the community.

She would like to thank the women who put in their time, hard work, and effort to sponsor and build her home. Johndolyn is just like every other woman. She is someone’s daughter, someone’s sister, someone’s friend, someone’s mother, and someone other people count on. “Not only are you building my family a home, but a future as well.”

Trina

A go getter by nature, Trina makes goals for herself and sets her expectations high. This year will be one she'll never forget. She will graduate from college and moving into her first home!

“At last we will have our own home and we won’t have to move anymore,” she said with a smile. The joy just radiated from her as she spoke about her boys playing in the yard, the tomato garden she hopes to grow, and the neighbors she will get to know.

Angie & Jermaine

For Angie and Jermaine, the road to becoming homeowners has been full of obstacles, but they are beginning to see God’s light at the end of the tunnel.

When the couple found out they had been accepted, Angie jumped up and down and Jermaine said, “Glory! Hallelujah!” From that moment on, they have enjoyed everything they have learned in the financial classes and understanding what it takes to be successful homeowners. They are especially enjoying the excitement and joy their children are feeling about having their own home. Angie and Jermaine admit that this blessing is 100% the Lord’s will. Their family will never be the same and only good things are yet to come!

Lamyai & Jermaine

Lamyai & Jermaine were working hard to accomplishing their ultimate goal to become homeowners and provide their children with a warm, safe place to live. While they were working with THDA, Lamyai & Jermaine felt God leading them towards Habitat. After several fervent prayers and family meetings, they decided to apply. When they found out they had been accepted, it was a joyous moment. You could see the relief wash over their faces. “Finally, we will have a home to be free in, comfortable in, and where our family can make memories,” Jermaine said with a subtle smile.

This part of their journey was something they never expected but they know it is all part of God’s plan. The entire family is so excited and extremely thankful for this blessing. When I asked what they were most looking forward to, I heard joyful shouts of “Building the house!,” “Working with the partner families!,” “Having neighbors!,” “Decorating my room!,” and “Making memories!”
